Spray Paint Your Way to Beautiful DIY Home Decor

Still not convinced that you can achieve elegant white or black wire baskets or vibrant blue eclectic lanterns like these on your own? Here are a few spray painting tips from fellow creative DIY decorator Becky Higgins that will get you started and help you get the best results.
- The best spray paint for indoor or outdoor items made of wicker, metal, wood and even slick surfaces are Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch: Ultra Cover Coverage, found at Home Depot or on Amazon for only$3.50 per can.
- To avoid the midday summer heat from negatively affecting how the paint dries, plan to spray paint outside in the early morning, preferably on a day when it is not too windy.
- Be sure to use a primer on items with slick surfaces; apply a final clear coat on items that will be handled often.
